The Space – Rheidol (Apartment 3)

The renovated, first floor, self-contained apartment has been totally refurbished specifically for the self-catering holiday market. The renovation work has been completed to an excellent standard. This property is located above our small family retail business (Oriel y Bont) and is one of 4 apartments in the building. The apartment called Rheidol, is accessed from Bridge Street via a stair case to the first floor. The front elevation looks down onto Bridge Street which is the main southerly thoroughfare into Aberystwyth. The building is located in the town centre and is surrounded by a mix of residential and commercial premises just as you would expect in a busy market town. The rear elevation, from the kitchen, looks over neighbouring rooftops.

The property offers a galley type, self-contained kitchen with fridge (includes a small compartment freezer box), microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and free-standing cooker with the usual base and wall units, kitchen sink and electric heater. Crockery, glasses, utensils and cutlery are provided for 2 occupants. An ironing board and iron are provided as well as a hairdryer and heatproof mat for your hair appliances.  The breakfast bar offers eating space for 2 people and two contemporary bar stools fit nicely under the worktop. The kitchen is equipped with a fire blanket and fire extinguisher, the window is fitted with a day light roller blind.

The shower room is compact with a small vanity style wash hand basin, toilet, single shower enclosure unit, electric shower, electric towel rail/radiator and mirror.

The combined living/sleeping space offers a well sized, airy and contemporary styled room.  It has 2 beautiful double glazed sash windows which are fitted with secondary double glazing and thermal/blackout blinds. The room is fully carpeted and offers a double bed, two tub chairs, coffee/side table, sideboard, bedside cabinets, a garment rack with shoe store, hangers and shelves, a range of soft lighting, electric fan, throw and cushions as well as a wall mounted remote controlled tv. The room is heated by a new electric radiator.  Two mirrors are fixed to the wall one being full length the other a contemporary pebble mirror.  The apartment front door, which leads into the living/sleeping space, has a spy hole for your personal security.

The accommodation has been lovingly refurbished and we have taken the opportunity to promote our business within the space as the art work on show is available to purchase. A central fire alarm system is installed in the building to safeguard all our guests and fire extinguishers are available in all kitchens and on floor landings.

The apartment is in a great town centre location.  Shops, restaurants, cafes and banks are within a minute’s walk from the front door. A 2 minute walk and you will find yourself in the castle grounds, a 5 minute walk will take you to south beach, the harbour, promenade, north beach, railway and bus station, main taxi rank, Vale of Rheidol steam railway and retail shopping centre. Access to the funicular Cliff Railway, camera obscura and Constitution Hill is approximately 10/15 minutes away … university campus, art centre, hospital, National Library of Wales are all within a 15/20 minute walk…. you get the picture!! Free street parking is available but check sign posts for any restrictions and be warned the traffic wardens are keen. A car park facility is available in the grounds of St Michael’s Church at a reasonable cost which again is a 3 minute walk from the apartment.  Aberystwyth has the greatest number of public houses for a town of its size in Wales, and combined with a night club and cocktail bars you can expect street noise at night. Aberystwyth boasts some wonderful restaurants, eateries, delis, butchers and a super fishmonger. Needless to say, the countryside is breath taking and the sunsets even better as you watch the sun go down over Cardigan Bay.
